Hi, my name is Luiz Augusto Sangoi Pizzato and I'm currently a PhD student at the Centre for Language Technology at Macquarie University in Sydney - Australia.

I hold a MSc and a BSc in Computer Science from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre - Brazil.

My research interests are related with Language Technology and Information Retrieval. My PhD study involves Question Answering and I am focusing on improving the information retrieval stage of question answering systems. In this context, I am part of the AnswerFinder project, which has the goal of developing an open domain question answering system. More about my research can be found here.
