I am a senior research fellow in the Centre for Language Technology in the Department of Computing, Macquarie University. This is located in beautiful Sydney. I currently work on two projects in the text analytics and intelligence area, one in defense with DSTO and the other in the financial surveillance area in the Capital Markets CRC. I like to work in the intersection between research and the real world.

Before coming here, I worked in HCRC/ICCS in the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh (my homepage there).

I have a very wide range of research interests, but they are mostly centered around language technology (particularly text analytics or information extraction), adaptivity and educational psychology.
