As the release of Coral new version is now in sight I'll be presenting to you the final application.
For those who may not know it, Coral is a project concerned with the automatic generation of route descriptions. It aims to produce instructions in plain English for travelling from A to B that sound as natural as possible.
The current system relies on techniques borrowed to the field of Natural Language Generation and implements theoretical results obtained as part of this project.
I'll give you an overview of how some of the main project objectives are tackled, which of the research issues involved in the project are handled and which are still remaining, and how things are put together.
And if lucky, we'll have a demo using an alpha version of the online system…
