Dominique Estival

My field of research is Computational Linguistics and Natural Language Processing.  I have been associated with the Language Technology Group (LTG) at Macquarie University since 1999; I came to the board of the LTG when I was leading the Natural Language Group at Syrinx Speech Systems. Since then, I have also been an Associate Researcher and a Visiting Fellow.

In 2008, I was teaching Syntax at the University of Sydney and was involved in the organisation of the First Australian Computation and Linguistics Olympiad (OzCLO 2008), which took place between May and August 2008.  I am now chair of the organising committee for the next OzCLO.

Aside from Natural Language Processing, my other interest
is flying and I am starting a research project on communication problems in the aviation environment and possible LT solutions to them.
