Hi! Welcome to my website. I am an PhD student in the
Department of Computing, Division of
Information and Communication Sciences, Macquarie
University, Sydney, NSW, Australia.
My supervisors at Macquarie are Dr. Mark Dras and
Dr. Steve Cassidy
and at CSIRO are Dr. Cecile Paris and Dr. Geoff James.
I am also part of the Intelligent
Systems Group at Macquarie and the
Smart Spaces Project at CSIRO.
Recently I have started my own consulting venture Orgun Technology.
We provide consulting to healthcare and web based business.
On the 18th of june 2004, my little miracle, my biggest project, Alik Deniz Orgun, arrived!
Here is a short movie featuring my son.
For my PhD I am currently looking at providing semantic interoperability in heterogeneous multi agent systems that have
domain ontologies associated with them. More specifically how semantic interoperability can be achieved
through agent communication protocols and the use of machine learning and language technology techniques.
I finished my MSc Honours in early 2003 on building interoperability models
using multiple mobile agents and HL7 based ontology. My thesis was titled
"Interoperability in heterogeneous medical information systems using smart
mobile agents and HL7".You can view my masters thesis here.
Prior to this I completed a BSc computing degree with first class honours at
UTS and worked in the industry for a few years as an analyst
programmer. I also have a degree in medical science.
I love dogs and growing and nurturing plants. I also love cooking for friends,
jewellery making, watching good movies,
listening to world music and oil painting. I have collected numerous
qualifications over the years and these include interior designing,
landscaping, beauty therapy, textile designing, marketing, public relations,
advertising and stiching among other things.
I am an Australian Greens member.
