Checklist for Supervisors
This Checklist for Supervisors was created to help supervisors ensure that they provide complete information to the student relating to their research study. It is provided also for student reference.
Students: Problems with your Supervision?
Students may have concerns about their supervisor(s) or their level of supervision. If this is the case it is important that you discuss this with someone!
In the first instance, open discussion with your supervisor can often solve the problem. Your supervisor may not see a problem until you bring it to his/her attention.
If you feel that this hasn't or won't solve the problem, you may speak confidentially with your Department Director of Postgraduate Research. If the matter remains unresolved, you may bring it to the attention of your Head of Department or the ICS PGR Administrator. The advice and grievance structure is laid out in the Macquarie University Code of HDR Practice 2007.
It may also be appropriate to include comments on problems with supervision at your Departmental Review and /or in your Higher Degree Research Candidate's Annual Progress Report.
