The winner of the Dean's Prize for the best 2006, sem 1 Research Student Seminar Series is Brett Watson, for his presentation "Organised Crime in Your Inbox"
The winner of the Dean's Prize for the best 2005 Research Student Seminar Series is Anders Tychsen, for his presentation "The Game Master- Collaborative Storytelling in Multi Player Computer Games". There were many fantastic presentations in this series and the Division wants to thank all of those who gave a talk for the high quality of their presentations. Martin Ams came in a close second for his presentation "Optical Wave Guides in Glass" The Winner was presented with a cheque for $500 in the Division Scholarships and Prizes Ceremony.

ICS Postgraduate Research Student Seminar Series
Featuring:
- No cumbersome technical detail - the idea is to excite not overwhelm. Every presentation must be accessible to everyone!
- This event is voluntary
- The format is up to you - present on your own, present with another student or group of students working in a similar area. No pressure - no staff members, only your peers, no official question time unless you want it
- $500 Dean's Award for Best Presentation in each semester
- Flexibility - as well as student presentations this forum will be open to suggestions for presentations from other sources: Have you got an interesting visitor in your department at the moment? Do you want to find out more about career options in industry and academia, local and international? Do you want to learn about interview strategies, key points when writing job applications or assembling a great curriculum vitae?

Dean's Award for Best Research Student Seminar assessment criteria:
- Presentation style
- Clarity of presented information
- General interest level of presentation
- Ability to convey information to non-specialised audience.
