MQ Photonics Research Areas
(from CLA website - to be updated for MQ Photonics)
The Centre for Lasers and Applications (CLA) is organised to encourage cross-talk between its various research interests. Some of the research "groups" listed below are clearly defined, whereas others are integrated to span a wide range of the CLA structure.
- Biological and medical applications
- Guided wave optics and photonics (Dept of Electronics)
- Laser microfabrication and photonics (including the CUDOS Centre of Excellence)
- Molecular and optical physics (formerly Chemistry Laser Applications Laboratory)
- Raman lasers
- Solid-state lasers (including the CUDOS Centre of Excellence)
- Ultraviolet and visible laser applications
- Tunable ultraviolet lasers
- New mode locked laser sources
(any more website links? Astrophotonics??)
The CLA also maintains regular contact with several other affiliated research groups and units in Macquarie University's Division of Information and Communication Sciences, predominantly within the Department of Physics. We also maintain links with many other research organisations in Australia and internationally.
