Title: Thinking ahead in the development of a museum exhibit
Speaker: Rainer Wasinger

Abstract: In this talk, I will outline the progress that has been made thus
far on the development of a thinking head for use in a prominent museum, and
more specifically, for use during dialogic interaction with one particular
exhibit that features a variety of well-known animals. I will also divulge
some of the first results from a recently conducted pilot data gathering
exercise concerning language-use when talking with a disembodied voice.

Title: Top Selections between Machine Translation Outputs
Speaker: Simon Zwarts

I'm writing a Colling paper, so my talk will be about the work I have done
for Colling.

In Machine Translation there are techniques to combine outputs of different
Translation systems, which need to be combined to create a better
translation, or the best translation from the different systems is chosen.
The question here is how we recognise what is the better one.

In trying to decide between different output which is the best, I focus on
the output of a SMT system working on preprocessed (reordered words) text
and one working on plain text.
