Title: Selection in MT
Pure Statistical or Syntax Flavoured?
Speaker: Simon Zwarts
Syntax and Statistics the battle continues! But wait, why do we need to
fight?
Can't we all just work together and try to achieve world peace?
My talk will be about my design plans for my latest experiments. I have
demonstrated the use of syntax as a preprocessing step for SMT. Which indeed
improves quality of translation, however not in all individual cases. I want
to build a binary decider which looks when syntax based reordering works and
when it doesn't.
It's kind of a hybrid approach, so with the power of Stats and Syntax
combined
I can ... well world peace is maybe a little bit too much... What about
half
a Bleu point?
