Title: Filling in the gaps one gap at a time

The first major experiment in my PhD has been a re-run of work Philip
Edmonds did at U Toronto for his PhD: predicting the best word from a given
set of near-synonyms to fill a lexical gap (a missing word in a sentence).
I've been exploring the hypothesis that performance on this experiment might
vary depending on sentiment differences among the near-synonyms in question.

In this talk I'll discuss the results I submitted to EMNLP, and where I'm
going to go from here.
