Title: Automatic Lexical Acquisition for Question Answering
Speaker: Lonneke van der Plas - University of Groningen

In this talk I would like to discuss how QA systems may benefit from lexical
information. I will first give an overview of the types of lexical
information that we want to cover. After a short overview of the QA system
'Joost' I will continue by showing how different modules need different
types of lexical information. These types of lexical information need to be
acquired automatically. We are working on Dutch and lexical resources are
sparse. I will discuss some methods we have used and are planning to use to
acquire these different types of lexical information automatically.
