Title: What I did in Edinburgh

Speaker: Maria Milosavljevic

The aim of this talk is to introduce myself and give an overview of the main
activities I was involved in during my time in Edinburgh. I will not go
into any of these in much detail but will plan do so later in the year.
These main activities were:
- the Smart Qualitative Data (SQUAD) project with the UK Data Archive;
- two student projects with Amazon.com using information extraction
techniques on the full text of books (for classification, comparison and
summarisation);
- the development of a generic architecture for text mining;
- the development of a proposal to use information extraction and adaptive
language generation in e-learning, and in particular for scenario-based
learning.
