Title: Recognizing Textual Entailment: after the challenge
Speaker: Elena Akhmatova

The talk is about the Recognizing Textual Entailment challenge 
(http://www.pascal-network.org/Challenges/RTE) that took place in 11-13 
April 2005 in Southampton, UK.

I'll tell about the challenge itself, about the organizers and the 
participants of the event. A discussion about the development of the 
datasets and test data will be mentioned too. But the largest part of the 
talk is devoted to the methods for entailment recognizing presented there, 
because the challenge took place for the first time this year, and therefore 
all the presented approaches are worth looking at. No one knows what 
approach or theory is the most promicing. It might be know next year when 
the second challenge will take place.
