Title: Text-based Natural Language Question Answering
Speaker: Elena Akhmatova

My current research is in the sphere of Question Answering, that means my 
task is to develop a system that, given an arbitrary question formulated in 
natural language, scan text documents and retrieve the answers to the 
question. The research to be done is in its initial part. The goal of the 
work now is to establish the mainstream of the research and to get the 
necessary tools and materials for the future.

The talk will reveal the ideas underlying the theoretical and practical 
parts of the research, and will give an overview of the work that has been 
done so far and the plans for the nearest future. Also the first version of 
the question answering system that is now under development for the Pascal 
Text Entailment Challenge will be presented.
