Table Detection

The task of table detection divides the research community into two worlds:
table extraction from HTML documents and table extraction from free text
documents. In the first part of this talk, we are going to examinate a
literature survey of the techniques, the research results and the future
work in these two separate worlds. In the second part of the talk, we are
going to look at the experiment we did in these two areas. Finally, we would
like to discuss a possible research direction in unifying these two worlds.
