Title: Structures for Supporting Your Research

Abstract:
This informal talk, which is intended to invite lots of audience
participation, is an updated version of a talk I give to the LTG around
once
a year. It covers topics like: managing your research; making your
research
visible; local resources that can be made use of; planning your research
agenda; and so on. It's primarily intended as a 'what you need to know to
succeed' talk for PhD students, but its content is more generally
applicable,
and contains information that ought to be useful to honours students as
well
as full time staff who've been researching for a while.

Each time I give this talk, I solicit new ideas from the audience to
incorporate into future versions, so please come armed with ideas to add.
