Outside Work
Outside work is subject to strict guidelines as detailed in the Enterprise Agreement Section 4.12 and the Outside Work Policy. The expectation is that most consultancy will be undertaken through a University company like Access Maquarie.
If you are
(a) involved in outside work for wihch you derive a benefit that has monetary value (Monetary Activity), or
(b) involved in any activity for any person or entity which gives rise to, or may give rise to, a conflict (Conflict Activity)
you need to complete an Application to undertake outside work
The provisions relating to work with a monetary value apply to staff employed at 0.8 fractional or greater. Provisions are less restrictive for part-time employees below 0.8 fractional appointment. The provisions relating to activities with giving rise to a conflict apply to all staff regardless of the fraction.
