Professor Eryk Dutkiewicz began his research career at the Overseas Telecommunications Corporation (OTC) Labs in Sydney in 1988 in the area of Asynchronous Transfer Mode systems. In 1990's, while at OTC/Telstra and at University of Wollongong he conducted R&D into quality of service mechanisms for wired, wireless and mobile technologies. In 1999, he joined Motorola where he managed wireless research activities in Motorola Labs in Sydney. During that period he was also deeply involved in IEEE wireless standards activities. In 2004, he rejoined University of Wollongong as a Professorial Fellow to lead a wireless research activity. His recent work has been in the areas of broadband wireless networks and wireless sensor networks focusing on scheduling and protocol aspects. This work has been supported by industry partners, including Motorola Inc., Freescale Semiconductor Inc. and Agere Systems. Prof. Dutkiewicz has strong collaboration links within wireless industry and with premier research institutions in Asia. He also holds visiting appointments at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing and at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Prof. Dutkiewicz joined the Department of Electronic Engineering at Macquarie University, Sydney in 2008 as a Professor of Wireless Communications. He is a member of Macquarie University's Centre of Microwave and Wireless Applications. |
