About the project
Development of fibre tapers to be used as adiabatic mode transformers in
astronomical instrumentation.
* Further investigation and characterisation of commercial fibre tapers
(Marcel, Haynes, Bland-Hawthorn 2006)
* Model ideal 2:1 and 10:1 tapers then attempt to manufacture these tapers
in the CUDOS labs.
* Place successful taper on an optical telescope for further testing.
