High School Science Teachers Take Real Research Experience Back to Class
October 2007: Researchers in the CUDOS labs at Macquarie University hosted four local high school science teachers recently as a part of a teacher professional development experience arranged in collaboration with CSIRO Education. These teachers follow three who trialled the novel program in late 2006 with promising results.

Visiting High School science teachers Andrew Francis, Sandra Fernandez, Sandra Woodward and Yetsum Yang worked with members of the CUDOS team to plan a busy 3 day research experience. They were trialling the benefits of self-directed visit programs as part of the CUDOS National Outreach Program in conjunction with the 2007 Teacher Research Scheme facilitated by CSIRO.
CUDOS researchers and research students discussed research interests, techniques, applications and processes with our visitors. In addition, practical demonstrations included an opal fabrication practical with Sara Ek.
