CUDOS @ Macquarie Hosts Three High School Science Teachers in a Self-Directed Research Experience
In 2006 three high school science teachers were invited in to the CUDOS at Macquarie research labs for a three day in-house research experience. This is what they said:
"The few days spent with CUDOS staff has exponentially increased my understanding of the field of Photonics well beyond the level I have been teaching at." |

"Discovering the practical application of each project was of particular interest in relation to both the curriculum and for stimulating student interest." |

Visiting High School science teachers Glen, Alexandra and Fiona worked with members of the CUDOS team and the MQ Physics Department to plan a busy 3 day research experience. They were trialling the benefits of self-directed visit programs as part of the CUDOS National Outreach Program in conjunction with the 2006 Teacher Research Scheme facilitated by CSIRO.
