ICS-ID
ICS-ID is the username and password used to authenticate to IT resources within the Division of ICS. These include:
- Microsoft Windows workstations
- Secure e-mail
- Webmail
- Password protected Intranet
- Unix systems
- Submit system
- Anti-spam quarantine
- VPN service
- CTS self service pages
- Equipment Bookings
- MQ and eduroam Wireless Networks
ICS-ID is based on our Active Directory service, where as ICS-Legacy-ID system runs on NIS which is being phased out. The UNIX systems which could only be accessed using the ICS-Legacy-ID now can also be accessed by ICS-ID.
Obtaining ICS-ID
ICS-ID is created automatically from enrollment details. See student accounts.
Checking your ICS-ID
Try to log in to the test intranet http://www.ics.mq.edu.au/test/. If your ICS-ID is valid, a message stating this will be displayed. If not, you will receive a "forbidden" message.
Changing your ICS-ID Password
To change your ICS-ID password, visit http://support.ics.mq.edu.au/ics/password.asp. Information on techniques for choosing secure passwords is available here
