Account Request Procedure
1) When staff accounts are created:
- An ICSID is created (username and password)
- This ICSID is granted access to teaching servers
- For staff accounts (academic, admin, etc.):
- an unix account is created for access to verus / marcus
- an email account is created
- account is added to requested mailing lists
- Access is granted to Staff Only and Intranet web pages
2) When staff are allocated lecturer, tutor or prac roles:
- If the ICSID does not exist, it is created as above
- Account is added to the email list for that unit role
- Access is granted to labs which the unit classes are allocated
- Lecturer roles are granted access to modify unit web pages and files
Note 1: Lecturer roles are set up from teaching lists before the start of semester.
Note 2: Units not running that semester are NOT cleared.
Note 3: Casual staff roles are allocated when list becomes available and when casual staff changes are notified.
3) When staff are removed from lecturer, tutor or prac roles:
(generally casual staff)
- Account is removed from email list for that unit role
- Access is removed from labs in which the unit classes are allocated
Note 1: Nothing happens to the ICSID nor is email removed
Note 2: This is done when:
- teaching list become available at start of semester
- casual staff roles are cleared between semesters
- changes are made to casual staff allocation
4) When staff accounts are disabled:
- The ICSID is disabled
- verus / marcus access is disabled
- email is disabled
- account is removed from staff email lists
- account is removed from unit role email lists
