Writing Advice for Students


When I read and comment on papers written by students, I find myself making the same points about writing mechanics and style again and again. To make it easier to give advice, I've put together some notes that cover matters that frequently arise. For more general advice on writing for academic purposes, if you're an international student enrolled at Macqaurie, you can take advantage of Macquarie International's Study Skills Advisor; you might also check out what Macquarie's National Centre for English Language Teaching and Research has to offer.

Claus Dethlefsen has an excellent site that provides step by step instructions on how to install LaTeX, Emacs and various associated utilities under Windows.
