Welcome to the homepage for Luke Stewart
I am a physics PhD student at Macquarie University, working as part of the Centre for Ultrahigh-bandwith Devices for Optical Systems (CUDOS) and Centre for Lasers and Applications research groups. My PhD research is on the topic of photonic crystals, and in particular self-assembled photonic crystals. Self-assembled photonic crystals are essentially iimitations opals. We hope to exploit the unique ways in which an opal interacts with light to try and completely control the flow of certain colours of light.
